In this issue we will continue the four lines of ministry that began in the first issue of Ministry Digest (vol. 1, no. 1). The first line--The History of the Lord's Recovery--continues with chapters 25 through 28 of The History and Revelation of the Lord's Recovery, which are in volume 2 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1981. These chapters provide a brief account of the Lord's recovery in the United States, South America, Korea, Africa, and Australasia and a word concerning the Lord's recovery being a living, not a work. The second line--Words for New Believers--continues with chapters 20 through 23 of Lessons for New Believers, which are in volume 3 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1959. These chapters speak of preaching the gospel and the practice of fellowship. The third line--Maturing in Life--continues with chapters 4 through 7 of The Purpose of God's Salvation, which are in volume 3 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1961. This line focuses on the unsearchable riches of Christ, the purpose of God's salvation, five practices essential to the fulfillment of God's purpose, and our need to experience Christ as both God and man for the church life. The fourth line--The High Peak of the Divine Revelation--continues with chapters 3 through 6 of The Experience of God's Organic Salvation Equaling Reigning in Christ's Life, which are in volume 5 of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1994–1997. The speaking in these chapters concerns conformation and glorification and then concludes with three manifestations of what it means to reign in life.

It's been three years since Germany's unconditional surrender, and United States Army Sergeant Rich Hammond remains on duty after originally being drafted in 1942. Exploiting the divisions between East and West Germany, Hammond runs a profitable black market business for drugs, cigarettes, porn-even Spam-as goods remain sparse. But Hammond's dealings make him a perfect target for the Russians in their search for spies. With tensions between the United States and Russia escalating, Hammond is blackmailed into supplying seemingly mundane information. It's a role that suits him, at least while he's still stationed in Germany. When Hammond is shipped back to the States, the stakes begin to rise. The Russians want Hammond as a stateside operative, but Hammond wants that part of his life left in Europe. Unfortunately, he can't shake it off. Only slightly behind Hammond on his trail of treason is Carl Foreman, an officer serving in Army Counterintelligence. As Foreman begins to rise through the ranks, he puzzles together pieces of Hammond's deceptions, even as the trail just seems to become more and more confusing. With the twists and turns of this spy game ever more entangling, discover if Hammond is able to keep Foreman at arm's length-or if the spy will ultimately meet his demise.

A work of fiction that is at turns poignant, thoughtful, redemptive and heartbreakingly sad awaits readers in Chapters Of Our Lives. The novel is divided into 32 chapters that unmask the feelings of each character through the written word. Chapters Of Our Lives is based on the knowledge, imagination and perception of the author Mary. Readers will meet The Boyds - John, Mary and Robert. John and Mary is an ordinary couple living in a very influential neighborhood. John is a plumber by trade but a millionaire. They live on over two hundred acres of land which Mary calls their crowdom. Their elite neighbors do not like them, because they are blue collar workers; therefore, they have no finesse. Mary feels they are the crows among the peacocks, but she loves to be a crow rather than a peacock. She feels the crows are smarter than the peacocks. John, on the other hand, does not care what people think about him. He wants to do his work and do it well. Robert is the only son of the Boydsa brilliant child who makes mistakes and ends up in jail for murder he did not commit. And theres Jean Peterson, Ginger, Sally, Victoria, Grandma Lainy, Damian, Grandma Bailey and the Bailey twins. The story follows the intertwining lives of these characters- struggles, conflicts, and inner demons that humans fight with every single day. Woven with such craft as if the characters leap out of the pages themselves, the author brings her creative spark to give birth to an elegant piece of fiction. When asked what her story is all about, the author candidly replied that its all about regular things that happen to people. Yet, Chapters Of Our Lives is a solid novel that is carefully constructed, giving special attention to the details, and yet provides it characters space to breathe and exhibit feelings that are genuine, real and raw.

These essays attempt to fill a growing need for a more exact idea of the role of religion, specifically in the Judaeo-Christian tradition, in shaping the traditional cultural images that have degraded and suppressed women. This book provides, in the compass of a single work, a glimpse of the history of the relationship of patriarchal religion to feminine imagery and to the actual psychic and social self-images of women.

The Dances of the Blind is a look at a hard time three decades gone, or four.. The country was tense with a darkening war that few could understand. Some felt the ground of our nation would give, some that it ought to. This is the story of a group of young folks who for a time had no guidance but their own confusion, and it describes the gestures of this darkness. The pain is in the times. The peace is in the telling, so the author hopes, and hopes that he has brought the fitting word to the page. The word brought kindly down on the wilderness of deed-this, he hopes, will bring some rest to the all the workings of calamity.

In the struggle between the sexes, Ronald and Beverly Allen are peacemakers. With feminists they feel fully the past and present pain, the yearning for new freedom and fulfillment. But they also trust the Bible-the source for all that is oldest and best in male-female traditions. To open your mind to what really matters in the women's movement, the Allens take you everywhere: to the incomparable events in Eden and to Paul's perplexing directives in the New Testament; to Betty Friedan in the sixties and a different Betty Friedan in the eighties; to Sarah and Steinem, to Deborah and deBeauvoir, to Proverbs 31 and Archie Bunker. The result is a call to balance, to help you rise from the ruts of injustice and insensitivity, and yet stay in the safe confines of God's design.
